Photo Ratings and Rankings

At ArtePortia, we ensure rankings and ratings are fair. Below is how our rating mechanisms work.

1. Weighted Photo Ratings

To avoid a situation where a photo with one "5.0" rating outranks a photo with hundreds of "4.9" ratings, we use a weighted rating system (Bayesian Average).

It considers:

• Average rating from users.
• Number of votes (rating confidence).

How does it work?

The system pulls the rating of a photo with few votes towards the overall site average. As it gains more votes, the weighted rating approaches the real user average. This rewards popular and highly-rated works.

Likes ("Hearts") count as 5.0, "Broken Hearts" as 1.0.

2. Reputation and Profile Rank

Your rank depends on your Reputation score. It includes:

🌟 Portfolio Quality

Weighted average of your entire portfolio.

📈 Activity and Seniority

• Activity Bonus: Regular posting increases visibility.
• Profile Age: Older accounts get a boost.

🛡️ Trust and Meaning

• Blocks: Being blocked lowers reputation.
• Weighted Credibility: Blocks from trusted users weigh more than from spammers.
